Dr. Munir Khalifa Launches the “Nafas – Your Right to Life” Campaign to Support Victims of the Latakia Countryside Wildfires

Amidst the catastrophic wildfires sweeping across vast areas of rural Latakia, causing severe damage to the environment and the daily lives of local communities, Dr. Munir Khalifa – Syrian businessman and President of the International Aviation Services Organization (IASO) – announced the launch of an urgent humanitarian campaign entitled “Nafas – Your Right to Life”, in cooperation with the International Organization for Human Rights and Refugee Affairs.

This campaign comes as an immediate response to the current crisis and aims to:

Support those affected by the fires by providing emergency relief and essential services.

Offer psychological and social support to families who have been displaced and have lost their possessions.

Assist firefighting and rescue efforts by coordinating logistical and medical resources.

Deliver humanitarian aid to the most affected areas, including water, food, medicine, and shelter.

In his official statement, Dr. Munir Khalifa affirmed that this humanitarian initiative stems from the shared commitment of both organizations to respond swiftly to disasters, believing firmly that humanitarian work can only succeed through the integration of efforts and the unification of resources to reach the most vulnerable groups in times of crisis.

Addressing the people of rural Latakia, Dr. Khalifa added:

“We understand the immense pain you are experiencing today, and we pledge to stand by you with everything we can. The ‘Nafas – Your Right to Life’ campaign is not just an emergency response, but an ongoing commitment that a dignified life is a right that can never be taken away from any human being.”

He concluded his statement by emphasizing that humanitarian work is not just a slogan but a true action, and that the “Nafas” campaign is a sincere promise to every affected person that there is someone standing by their side, supporting them to regain their right to a dignified life.

“#Nafas is our promise to you that we are here, for life.”
