Introduction to IASO

The International Aviation Services Organization (IASO) is a non-profit industry leader based in Geneva, Switzerland. As a parent association for aviation service organizations worldwide, IASO provides consultation on industry issues and develops best-practice policies to ensure a safe, sustainable, reliable, and efficient environment for aviation services. We support our members by creating business tools, coordinating efforts, and advocating for their growth and sophistication to guarantee safe, cost-effective, and quality performance.

Voice Of Aviation Services

We recognize the challenges facing the aviation services industry and believe that strong industry representation is crucial for continued global advancement. To address these challenges, we are committed to helping develop standard practices that adapt to the evolving needs of the industry. Additionally, we aim to enhance the understanding of aviation services companies’ essential needs among decision-makers, regulators, and providers, and to raise awareness of the significant benefits aviation brings to national and global economies.

Sustainable-Development

IASO recognizes the importance of sustainable development in aviation and has been working towards this goal for many years

Environmental Impact

  1. Carbon Emissions:

Global Share: Aviation contributes approximately 2-3% of global CO2 emissions  .Emission Reduction Targets: The International Air Transport Association (IATA) aims for net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 . Efficiency Improvements: From 2009 to 2020, the average annual improvement in fuel efficiency was around 2.3% .

2. Alternative Fuels:

Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF): SAF can reduce carbon emissions by up to 80% compared to traditional jet fuel. However, SAF accounted for less than 0.1% of aviation fuel in 2020 .  Production Increase: The goal is to produce 7 billion liters of SAF annually by 2030 .

Reducing Environmental Impact

We promote sustainable practices to minimize aviation's environmental footprint by: - Reducing aircraft noise - Improving air traffic management - Promoting energy-efficient technologies IASO collaborates with airlines, airports, and governments to implement these practices and achieve a more sustainable future.

Digitalization

Digitalization has the potential to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve safety in the aviation industry. AI has the potential to further enhance the benefits of digitalization by providing intelligent insights and predictions. For example, AI can be used to analyze data from aircraft sensors and predict maintenance issues before they occur, reducing the risk of unexpected downtime. AI can also be used to analyze weather patterns and optimize flight paths, reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
